'HELLO' from our new School Captain 

My name is Jacob and I’m really proud to be your School Captain this academic year.

I hope you all have had a good summer and like me, are looking forward to the new school year. I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome all the new pupils to Bickley Park, it was lovely meeting some of the new Year 7 boys last week, you have all joined a truly wonderful school.

I’m in Year 8 and one of my biggest passions is rugby. I love the teamwork, discipline and determination it teaches and these are all values that I think are important in school life as well as in rugby.

As School Captain, this year I want to make sure that every student feels supported and able to achieve their best. School is not about being the smartest, it is about learning new things, building friendships, trying your best and pushing yourself to try new challenges. 

Over the summer I challenged myself and overcame one of my fears, I climbed 15 metres above ground level and zip-lined along a large lake from one end of the forest to the other, I was petrified but knew that if I could overcome this I would be very proud of myself, I did, and I was. 

I believe this year will be full of opportunities for us to challenge ourselves, grow and to support each other. 

One of my goals this year is to encourage more students to get involved whether it’s through sport, clubs or helping out around our amazing school. I believe that each student can bring unique value to the table if they put their mind to it and by working together we can make the four quadrants even stronger.

Being School Captain is a role I’m really proud of and I want to use this year to make a positive difference. Most of all, I want this to be a year we can all look back on and feel proud of our effort, our achievements and the community we’ve built.

The School Captain Committee and I are really excited about this year and what it has in store. We are also looking forward to learning new things and challenging ourselves.  Just like in sports, we are stronger when we work as a team and I am really excited to see what we can achieve together this year.
