Step 2:  Book a Visit/Open Days

There is no substitute for a visit to our lovely community, so we would be delighted to welcome you to discuss your son or daughter’s journey with us. Experience the atmosphere and meet our Head, staff and wonderful pupils during a small group tour, or join one of our regular Open Mornings.

Either way you will have the opportunity to see our school in action and experience the Bickley buzz for yourself. Please complete our enquiry form to join us at one of our school events or contact Mrs Eileen Saint on 0208 467 2195.

Step 3: Apply for a place

Following your visit to school you will be sent an application form which you can fill in and return when you have made the decision to apply. An application fee of £100 is required at this point and your child will be added to our waiting list pending assessment.

Step 4:  Assessment

Every child is unique and we are looking for children who will flourish and thrive in our environment  taking full advantage of our outstanding provision. To this end, all children are assessed so that we can look at his or her potential and their attitude to learning.

Your child will be invited to attend a trial session in school for an assessment and familiarisation session. For our youngest pupils this takes the form of a ‘stay and play’ session and progresses to computer based and written assessments in the later years. Our assessments are designed to allow each applicant to demonstrate their strengths and include a wide range of elements beyond simple ‘tests’. It is important that our pupils enjoy every moment of their time with us and that begins with the assessment day for prospective pupils.

Step 5:  Offer of a place

Following the assessments, an offer of a place will be sent to you. To secure your child’s place, a deposit is required upon acceptance. Should we feel that the school is not a good fit for your child, we will let you know and offer a discussion if you would like further detail.

For children with additional needs, you may be required to have a discussion with our SENDCo who may also arrange to observe your child in their current setting. Whilst we are able to support children with mild difficulties, we may advise an alternative setting if we are unable to meet your child’s needs.

Step 6:  Welcome to Bickley Park

Depending on the time between acceptance and your child joining the school, we will invite you and your child to keep in touch and to attend some of our functions. We can also arrange additional transition days for pupils too. When joining the school, buddies will be allocated and your child’s new form tutor will be in touch with you to discuss first day arrangements. Very quickly your child will be settled in and enjoying every moment of his or her new adventure.
