Welcome back to another term at Bickley Park! I hope you all had a great break and an enjoyable and relaxing time with your friends and families.
A new term means a new Deputy Head Boy and I would like to express my appreciation and thanks to Gajan for being such a help to me last term. In his place is Finlay Horner who, of course, needs little introduction, but who will be of great assistance to Mr Wenham and me.
As we all know, at the end of a year we have time to reflect and think about what has happened but, more importantly, to look forward and discuss our goals for the year ahead. This half-term’s focus within the school is ‘Dreams and Goals’, so it is a great time to set yourself a New Year’s resolution – and try and stick to it!
On New Year’s Eve this year, I was watching Nile Rodgers and Chic perform on television at the London post fireworks party. The way Nile played the guitar really inspired me, so my resolution is to practise my guitar everyday so that, by the end of the year, I will be able to play like Nile Rodgers! Maybe this is a bit far-fetched, but practising to get great by the end of the year should be an achievable goal. Nile has battled against cancer too and his inspiring determination will hopefully help me to aspire, endeavour and achieve.
I hope everyone has a great year in 2018 and thank you to the people who made 2017 so special for me.
