It’s The Final Countdown…

Common Entrance – tick
School exams – tick
The school year – (almost) tick!

It’s the last month of school and for me the last month of 119 previous months at Bickley Park School!

Year 8 sat their Common Entrance two weeks ago and I am pleased to say that everyone did fantastically and got into their chosen school. I think a lot of us were quite nervous going into the week and this is to be expected. However, we were superbly prepared and I am sure that we all think now that all that hard work was worth it!

Following Common Entrance, Oliver H, Tom D and I went up to Shropshire to represent BPS at the IAPS Golf Championship for Prep Schools throughout the country. We did not win and were very much middle of the pack but, most importantly, put the school in an excellent light and we all made some new friendships. Many thanks to Mr Hyslop and our dads for making the long journey up there!

A very successful swimming gala was held on Friday with Herbert claiming victory. Well done to all involved – it was a great day!

This week, Year 8 will be preparing for our Entertainment Evening on Friday: a welcome release from all the pressure of the last month. This will lead onto Sports Day; Power of 99 and, finally, Speech Day: on 11th July. I hope as many of you as possible will attend to say a thank you to all the teachers and the Bickley Park community for making this such a special school. We have made lasting friendships, learnt a great deal and, most importantly, we will carry all these qualities and memories with us to prepare us for what lies ahead.
