It has been an extremely busy week at Bickley and I will cover exactly what has happened.
This week has been the ‘Science Week’ in the Pre-Prep. The boys have been doing a number of activities in class all related to Science and Design Technology. The smiles that were on the boys’ faces shows how much fun they had throughout this exciting and out of the ordinary week.
On Thursday, everyone in Prep enjoyed Expeditions Day (apart from Year 7 who were away anyway on their Adventure Camp in Norfolk!)
- Year 3- Climbed aboard HMS Belfast and had a great time.
- Year 4- Had an amazing Viking Day at school.
- Year 5- Looked at the Home Front in World War II.
- Year 6- visited the National Photography Museum.
- Year 8- Went on an 8 mile hike: practice for the upcoming Three Peaks Challenge.
On Tuesday, the Year 7s set off in anticipation on an adventure camping trip to Norfolk. An important part of the experience was to test their survival skills and stamina. I spoke to Joe Day, who was on the trip, and he said that everyone had an amazing time and learnt so much, including important survival skills they may need one day. They returned home on Friday.
Unfortunately (or not!) Cross Country was postponed due to miserable weather: more information on a new date will be given soon.
I would like to thank eveybody at the school for making this such a busy and productive term. Many thanks to Deputy Head Boy, Finlay Horner, for his outstanding teamwork and contributions towards the school: he has been a great support. I am very much looking forward to Alex Percival taking his place after what I hope will be a relaxing and enjoyable Easter hoilday for all!
