Somebody who embraced the school motto (Aspire Endeavour Achieve) this summer was Head of Religious Studies, Mrs French who writes:
Every eight hours someone sustains a spinal cord injury. Their life is changed as a result. Aspire is a national charity that helps people through that change, with the aim to retain and restore independence.
Endeavour was a word whose meaning I pondered as I tried to up my weekly swimming so that I would be ready to undertake a four mile river swim down the river Arun in early August. The word endure kept popping into my head and I wondered what the similarities might be in a dictionary definition.
Achieve – I did it! I swam four miles down the river Arun. I also managed to raise just over a thousand pounds for Aspire.
