ART / DT / HOME ECONOMICS

Art plays an important part in the life of the school and every attempt is made to have the boys work displayed around the school.

From Year 2 upwards, Art is taught as a specialist subject in a purpose built area with facilities allowing for all areas of this subject to be experienced.

Design Technology also has its own specialist facilities and is taught to all boys from Year 3 upwards.

Home Economics is a new subject at Bickley Park and is divided into three areas; Cookery, Fabrics and Health and Hygiene. This subject is also taught to boys in Year 3 and above.

For all the practical subjects mentioned above a time equivalent to 1.5 hours is allowed for on the timetable each week. Boys are also able to work in these areas at lunchtimes and during club sessions.
